Circulating Supply (TroveStones)

The circulating supply of TSTs in the community at a time T will likely differ from the total TSTs that are released by time T. Two community-governed factors influence the pool of circulating TSTs.

  1. Claim rate: the percentage of TroveStones that are claimed by community members from the mining pool in a given period of time. Note that the portion of TSTs that are not claimed by users on any given day get added back to the non-circulating mining pool.

  2. TroveMate minting rate: the percentage of claimed TSTs that are burnt by members to mint new TroveMates. Higher minting rate of TroveMates implies that a larger portion of circulating TSTs are burned, thus reducing their circulating supply.

In the exceptional case where 100% of TroveMates regularly claim rewards from the mining pool without fail and nearly 100% of TroveStones are instantly burnt to mint new TroveMates, the circulating supply of TSTs will remain nearly zero. A more realistic example is with the claim rate at 80%, where 80% of those claimed TSTs are further burned to mint new TroveMates. That means 20% of TSTs remain in the non-circulating mining pool and 64% of all TSTs are burnt to produce new TroveMates, thus leaving 16% of cumulative TST pool in the circulating market supply.
